Pretzels!

After soup yesterday, we still weren't very hungry at dinner time.
Instead of a big meal, we decided to snack on some lunch meat and make semi-homemade pretzels.

They were super easy! We each made one savory and one sweet.

Prep time: 25 minutes
Bake Time: 11 minutes
Yield: 8 pretzels

1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 egg, beaten with 2 Tbs. water

Optional Toppings:
Colored sugar
grated Parmesan cheese
Sea Salt
Sesame Seeds
Garlic Butter
Cinnamon Sugar

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease Baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. On lightly floured surface, roll dogh to a 12" X 6" rectangle. Cut dough into 8 long strips and then roll each strip into a 15" rope.

2. To form pretzels, work directly on prepared baking sheet. Make a "U" shape with dough. Loop right end of the rope under the bottom left curve of the U and loop the left end of the rope over the bottom right curve of the U, crisscrossing as you go.

3. Brush pretzels with egg wash. Sprinkle with desired toppings. Bake 11 minutes, or until pretzels are golden brown.

Cal. (w/o topping) : 165
